Signalling Core
Cellusys Signalling Core provides a single, virtualised signalling routing infrastructure supporting SS7, Diameter and 5G HTTP/2. It enables operators to consolidate signalling functions, simplify interconnect, and maintain control as networks evolve from legacy to 4G and 5G.
Operator challenges
- Fragmented signalling infrastructure across SS7, Diameter and 5G environments
- Increasing complexity in interconnect and core signalling routing
- Migration challenges from legacy TDM-based systems to IP-based and 5G signalling
- High availability and resilience requirements across multi-network deployments
- Limited flexibility in scaling and virtualising traditional signalling platforms
- The need to consolidate routing functions while maintaining operational stability
How the platform works
The platform provides a unified signalling layer across SS7, Diameter and 5G environments, delivered through virtualised network functions. STP, Diameter routing, and 5G signalling functions operate within a single architecture, enabling centralised routing, load balancing, and traffic control.
Signalling traffic is processed across redundant virtual machines operating in active/active mode, ensuring high availability and resilience. Traffic can be distributed across all nodes or partitioned logically by protocol or application, depending on deployment requirements.
The platform supports interworking between legacy and IP-based signalling, enabling gradual migration to 5G HTTP/2 while maintaining compatibility with existing network elements.
Solution portfolio
Deployment
Deployable on virtualised infrastructure across customer-provided servers or cloud environments. The platform supports phased migration from legacy signalling systems, including coexistence with existing third-party network elements.
Integration includes SS7, Diameter and 5G signalling interfaces, with support for traffic separation, monitoring feeds, and external system integration. High availability is achieved through redundant virtual machines, distributed system management, and synchronised state across nodes.
